Product description: For a luminaire to be suitable for the pharmaceutical industry, it must comply with specific regulations and requirements that ensure controlled environments (clean, safe, and free from contamination) in production areas, laboratories, and cleanrooms.

Below are some of the requirements that must be met:

1. Minimum technical conditions for lighting systems in Colombia. RETILAP.
2. No gaps where dust, moisture, or bacteria can accumulate. ISO 14644-1, Resolution 1160 of 2016 - Ministry of Health and Social Protection, NSF P442, USP 797.
3. Smooth, non-porous surfaces (prevent bacterial accumulation). ISO 14644-1, Resolution 1160 of 2016 - Ministry of Health and Social Protection, NSF P442, USP 797, USP 800.
4. Luminaire marking (as applicable). RETILAP, IEC 60598-1, NTC 2230.
5. Must be designed and constructed not to release particles. ISO 14644-1, NSF P442, USP 800.
6. Materials resistant to cleaning and disinfection products (acids, chlorine, etc.). ISO 14644-1, Resolution 1160 of 2016 - Ministry of Health and Social Protection, NSF P442, USP 797, USP 800.

10. ISO cleanroom classification based on permissible airborne particle levels; the luminaire must be compatible with the required cleanliness grade. ISO 14644-1.
11. Suitable for use in laboratories requiring Biosafety Levels BSL 1 to 4. CDC/NIH BMBL.

16. Use luminaires suitable for work in areas with explosion risk (due to dust or gases). ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.
